Bhagavad Gita Chapter 13 Verse 12

ज्ञेयं यत्तत्प्रवक्ष्यामि यज्ज्ञात्वामृतमश्नुते ।
अनादि मत्परं ब्रह्म न सत्तन्नासदुच्यते ॥१३-१२॥

Transliteration:

Lord Krishna addresses King Arjuna thus… that which is worth knowable and after knowing which (realizing which) human beings experienced stage of permanent bliss (param ananda in Hinduism)… reached stage of ecstasy, stage of extreme happiness (something that could never be described in words)… I shall explain all to you about that creator who had no beginning! That which exists from times immemorial (Brahman in Hinduism)… Some say is real but others disputed this theory and say god almighty is unreal. Some believed in existence of god… others not!

The Explanation:

Lord Krishna says, O Arjuna: that which is worth knowing meaning the true essence of life we termed God Almighty was the only factor in life worth pursuing. Why run after ephemeral riches of life (that were transient) when God Almighty (termed Brahman in Hinduism) was the only truth of life. As per Bhagavad Gita nothing other than God Almighty existed in cosmos. God Almighty was the only reality of life… termed Brahman in Hinduism!

How can Lord Krishna say, God Almighty was the only truth of life! As proved by Adi Shankaracharya in his famous doctrine of Maya (veil of illusion)… other than God Almighty nothing exists in cosmos. Broken down to basic building block of cosmos… every single entity in cosmos was just a cluster of atoms and molecules… pure gaseous formation! Even human beings that appeared solid from physical senses point of view were a cluster of atoms and molecules. It is veil of ignorance… termed veil of Maya by Adi Shankaracharya that obscured a complete vision. Only after gaining enlightenment… the complete picture of cosmos emerged before one.

Lord Krishna emphasizes that after knowing God through inner eyes… one reached stage of permanent bliss… something that could never be defined or explained in the physical manifest world. None world over could understand what permanent bliss truly meant unless one reaches stage of enlightenment forever. As per Bhagavad Gita, as per Lord Krishna… reaching stage of permanent bliss announced one having become an enlightened one… a bodhi… a Jina… a Mahavira forever. Beyond enlightenment there was nothing left to be achieved by human beings.

An enlightened one, after liberation from cycle of birth and death forever, moment one left mortal frame reached stage of moksha salvation. Reaching stage of param ananda was permanent. Having reached stage of enlightenment… one could never revert to earthly duties as before. If by knowing God… realizing God human beings reached highest stage of spiritual elevation… then pursuing path of spirituality was truly a noble path that needs travel by every human being. Lord Krishna extols virtues of knowing God.

Lord Krishna also emphasizes that he would again and again repeatedly extol virtues of God Almighty. As per Lord Krishna… as enlightenment could only be gained in human form, it was imperative on human beings to follow path of spirituality as dictated by our soul atman, the spirit within! From first manifestation to 8.4 millionth manifestation… the effort of every soul atman, the spirit within always remained… regaining its lost original pure prime pristine form forever. This becomes possible when human beings reached stage of enlightenment forever.

Traveling path of pure spirituality was not a small task that could just be sidetracked. Spiritual journey demands highest level of perfection that could ever be practiced by human beings. If we truly desired reaching stage of Param Ananda, enlightenment… then our traveling path of pure spirituality was mandated by God Almighty. Lord Krishna did not mince words when extolling virtues of God Almighty. As per Krishna we were lucky to be born human as it was only in human form our soul atman, the spirit within finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever.

Lord Krishna further says, God Almighty is anadi i.e. without a beginning… it exists from times immemorial! If God Almighty exists from times immemorial… how could it explode self to form present cosmos? This paradox has been explained by Adi Shankaracharya in his doctrine of Maya (veil of illusion)!

First we must accept authority of God Almighty as it exists from times immemorial. The existence of God Almighty is not questionable. Those who do not believe in existence of God were mistaken… ignorant in matters spiritual! This anadi Param Brahma has been termed Brahman in Hinduism… the one and only one creator of present cosmos!

Lord Krishna says, as per some existence of God Almighty was an absolute fact of life. Why? If we as human beings existed… so did souls atmans. As every soul atman was God Almighty in miniscule form… existence of human beings, souls’ atmans confirmed presence of God Almighty in cosmic system. This is also proved from big bang theory when God Almighty exploded self to form present cosmos.

However, if we look at doctrine of Maya by Adi Shankaracharya… the existence of God Almighty becomes in doubt. Why? The present cosmos came into being with explosion of God almighty… termed Brahman in Hinduism. If the present cosmos has a boundary… then what beyond! If the present cosmos does not have a boundary… then everything could only exist in thoughts of God Almighty. Everything becomes illusive covered by a veil of illusion!

Our existence in cosmos is covered by a veil of illusion. By traveling path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) human beings finally cut across this veil of illusion forever. As the reality of life emerged before one, one became more and more interested in traveling spiritual journey that finally led to God Almighty… stage of enlightenment! It is veil of illusion… veil of ignorance that barred human beings from reaching stage of enlightenment… realizing our true inner self!
