Transliteration:
Lord Krishna says: O Arjuna, one who succeeds in maintaining equipoise in sufferings or happiness, one not affected by honor or ignominy… one who remained stable while facing extreme heat and cold… such a knower of God Almighty was a true Yogi indeed!
One who had overcome Vrittis of Antahkarana (the inner turmoil… that result from thousands of thoughts flowing to our brain every second of life), one who had mastered five senses and mind, a human being who had truly won inner self… such a one had already reached God Almighty!
One who after contemplation reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (state of absolute nothingness) by following path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom), for such a one there was nothing more to be achieved as one had already reached cosmic end of life… 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle!
Such a one established in God Almighty is termed a Jina… a bodhi, an enlightened one!
The Explanation:
When a human being lifts self above catch of five senses and mind, in absence of inner tribulations of thoughts… one finally reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness), when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked! Establishing absolute control over five senses and mind was necessitated to reach stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness)! One who had purified self forever, one which had become a pure soul atman, the spirit within… such an enlightened one was all the time placed in thoughts of God Almighty! For a Jina, a bodhi… except God Almighty nothing existed in cosmos!
Duality was part of cosmic system. In absence of duality… the whole cosmic system simply could not exist. Why? As detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism when nothing except God Almighty exists in cosmos, the sum total of entire cosmos at any stage of life should be zero! For this simple reason if we have God… we also have Satan who also had equivalent negative power! If we have fire… we also have water! If we experienced happiness… we also underwent our part of sufferings! If we have day… we also have night! It is by experiencing both phases of life, one moved ahead in cosmic life cycle! To an enlightened one, extremities of weather never mattered!
For a true seeker of spirituality both sufferings and happiness meant the same. One who remained unperturbed in all circumstances of life, even when honored or in ignominy… such a one finally reached God Almighty in present life. Establishing control over five senses and mind was essence of spiritual life. Unless we succeeded in establishing absolute control over five senses and mind… we would never reach God, realize God in present life! Establishing absolute control over Antahkarana ki Vritti’s (the inner turmoil of thoughts) was an absolute must if we were to reach God in present life!
Pursuing path of free will, intoxicated by godliness of God Almighty… one indulging in nishkama karma yoga, jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom)… finally reached God in one’s lifetime! A true seeker of spirituality ultimately realized that our soul atman, the spirit within was the absolute master and controller of human body and not vice versa. If one reached our true inner self… our soul atman, the spirit within… and finally reached God Almighty in all its glory! After all, every soul atman was God Almighty existing in all living beings in miniscule form! If an individual piece of puzzle was an independent soul atman… the completed puzzle God Almighty!
A true seeker of God Almighty never swayed from path of absolute truthfulness! Concentrating all thoughts on God Almighty… one finally reached God Almighty! Human form, the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle was bestowed by God Almighty with that special power of discrimination… that distinguished us from animals! It is mounted with this power of discrimination human beings finally realized the power of their free will! To establish control over willpower one had to travel path of absolute truthfulness… always and ever! Only then one can hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman that always prompts us on right path!
In a nutshell, to reach God… practicing truth at every stage of life was an absolute must! On path of absolute truth… not a single lapse was permitted by God Almighty! Similar as God could never be reached without practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation, god could also not be reached unless we practiced truthfulness all the time! Being truthful all the time was something that most people on mother earth found wanting. Practicing truth all the time in present Kali Yuga, Dark Age… metal age almost seemed impossible. Only an ardent seeker of spirituality like Swami Vivekananda was competent to reach God in ones lifetime! That was how God Almighty ordained spiritual journey to be.
One established in God Almighty all the time became neutral to every single occurrence on mother earth! Having become a pure soul atman, one practically became a Dhrishta (onlooker) in all phases of life. This is the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (absolute nothingness) when one experienced inner calm, absolute bliss all the time. In absence of dross impurities within, the soul atman reached stage of absolute purity forever! Stated otherwise, in absence of dross impurities within… the need for a soul atman to manifest a body any further now ceased to exist! For a seeker of spirituality it was very important to understand that every soul atman, the spirit within kept manifesting body after another until single trace of dross impurity existed within!
