Transliteration:
Ignorant in matters spiritual… a follower of path of religion (rituals) always pretends following path of spirituality! One who did not understand even basics of spirituality, how could one realize anything about God Almighty in ones lifetime? Just by forcibly stopping usage of five senses, one does not succeed in establishing control over five senses! Control over five senses could never be established that way.
All the five senses are primarily governed by mind power. If our mind remained active… how could we subdue five senses in entirety? Control over five senses comes with time when we travelled path of pure spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Indulging in nishkama karma yoga when we contemplated on God Almighty… dross impurities within our soul atman, the spirit within reduced gradually!
A true seeker of spirituality never went to a temple, church or mosque. A true traveler of spiritual path never indulged in pastimes that carried no meaning on spiritual journey. For a serious seeker of spirituality, God Almighty always existed within us in miniscule form as our soul atman, the spirit within! To know God… we had nowhere else to go! Remaining wherever we are, simply by indulging in teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita we can reach God.
One who believed in rituals (path of religion) as a way to reaching God Almighty was under a misnomer! With passage of time such human beings finally lost track of spiritual life. Whatever was convenient to them, they perpetuated it further as the only path to reach God! We find hordes of religious people gathered at religious congregations’ world over. Many can all the time be found at Haridwar, Rishikesh, Banaras and Ayodhya!
No matter what our material sacrifices, just by indulging in Vedic rituals one never reached God! Reaching God demands practicing nishkama karma yoga, offering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty all the time! In the present materialistic world none was interested in offering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty. All were practically after fruits of karma performed most of time. Believers of fruits of karma never truly indulged in spirituality.
Those possessing half baked knowledge of spiritual principles all the time indulged in discourses through medium of Internet or TV. A true spiritual master would never indulge in discourses unless one reached level of Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism… preceptor). Mahavira rightly said, do not indulge unless you gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) at the end of spiritual journey. Mahavira was absolutely right in his surmise.
The Explanation:
All their life Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana never built an ashram (hermitage) of their own. Why? Both these spiritual masters gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in their lifetime. After gaining enlightenment, both indulged in preaching to masses whatever they learnt on spiritual path! Lying on a cot, both preached wisdom of Bhagavad Gita to masses at large!
A true spiritual preceptor, one who had negated karma to zero forever would never build an ashram (hermitage) as it was totally unnecessary. The need to indulge rests with those who had yet to establish absolute control over five senses and mind. One who was free of all bondages of earthly manifest life never feared anything in life. Whatever the means available, one indulged in imparting sacred wisdom to humanity at large!
A true spiritual preceptor always works like a true trustee of God Almighty, doing his bidding all the time! To a true trustee of God almighty… everything belonged to God Almighty. One was only an instrument in the hands of God Almighty, doing his bidding! By offering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty all the time… a liberated seeker of spirituality never attached self to any kind of karma! Whatever little karma was necessary to maintain the body, one indulged in that! A pure soul atman had no more goals to achieve in life.
An enlightened one… a bodhi, a Jina… a Mahavira could make two choices! After gaining enlightenment… one could gain salvation moksha by leaving the manifest physical frame forever! The other path involved indulging in discourses to disseminate pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita to humanity at large. Mahavira followed this path… and so did Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! After gaining enlightenment, it was purely our choice whether we wanted to retain our body or not.
In present times we find hordes of religious preachers preaching half baked theories to gullible mankind even though they had yet to gain enlightenment in their lifetime. Teachings of such ignorant of spiritual path were vague, meaningless! Such pretenders of spiritual knowledge must be shunned at each and every stage of life. The sacred Bhagavad Gita abhors such walkers of spiritual path who were not only ignorant but acted as parasites in the society.
Lord Krishna says those who pretended to be spiritual expressed as though they succeeded in establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. Control over mind could not be established that easily. Glossing over sense objects is what human mind all about. Travelers of religious path gloated over indulgence in sense objects, though internally! Externally, they all appeared calm and composed but internal workings of karma, sense objects was an absolute reality!
If we truly desire travelling spiritual path… we must travel spiritual journey from within! External manifestations carried no meaning in spiritual world. Everything in field of spirituality is always gained from within. Why indulge in external manifestations that were temporal… ephemeral! If we truly desire reaching our true inner self… our soul atman, the spirit within we had to indulge in path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to reach God in our lifetime.
Never through literal reading could a serious seeker of spirituality ever understand gist of sacred scriptures. Learning to read in between the lines was essence of spirituality. Why go to a temple church or mosque when God Almighty existed in our heart as our soul atman, the spirit within! The earlier we shed external manifestations of five senses and mind, better our progress in spiritual world! In present Kali Yuga… Dark Age, metal age… most human beings indulged in ephemeral physical manifestations of spiritual world.
When a villager with a dead child in his hands approached Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism, preceptor)… Mahavira simply said, go back! There was no place for miracles in the field of pure spirituality. Just by touching the child, life could never be put back in the child! Mahavira was never a believer of miracles. He believed in true spirituality! On path of pure spirituality… miracles of any kind carried no meaning! Those who believed in miracles were absolute ignorant on path of pure spirituality. Such human beings never truly gained anything in life.
