Bhagavad Gita Chapter 5 Verse 25

लभन्ते ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृषयः क्षीणकल्मषाः ।
छिन्नद्वैधा यतात्मानः सर्वभूतहिते रताः ॥५-२५॥

Transliteration:

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 5 verse 25 Lord Krishna emphasized to Arjuna importance of human beings working for welfare of mankind. None could travel spiritual path sincerely and diligently unless we worked for welfare of all living beings including mankind. Self realization, God realization does not mean realizing God by assimilating sublime principles of life that lay hidden in various sacred scriptures of different religions of world. Unless we had the spirit to work for welfare of entire mankind, one just could not assimilate teachings contained in sacred scriptures.

Only by dissolving our individual self, eradicating ego (Ahamkara in Hinduism) did human beings reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). Path of jnana yoga does not mean indulgence in sacred scriptures alone. Sankhya yoga (path of jnana yoga, absolute wisdom) can only be travelled successfully when we had the goal of entire humanity’s’ welfare in mind. Most seekers world over cared only for individual self. Can such ignorant seekers of spirituality ever reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in their lifetime?

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 5 verse 25 Lord Krishna says: one who successfully eradicates all traces of papa karma by indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time… one who travelling path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) dissolves every query within by contemplating on God Almighty all the time… one who travelling path of absolute truthfulness always and ever finally succeeds in establishing absolute control over five senses and mind… such an enlightened one finally finds solace in God Almighty by becoming one with God Almighty.

Such a traveler of spirituality by negating karma to zero in entirety succeeds in gaining absolute purity forever. Our soul atman, the consciousness within after gaining absolute purity liberates from cycle of birth and death forever. Moment the enlightened one left mortal frame… the soul atman after regaining its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form gains entry into abode of God, kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism)… a point of no return! An enlightened one after death of mortal body gains moksha salvation forever. After reaching stage of moksha salvation, there is nothing further to be achieved by liberated soul atman!

The Explanation:

One who succeeds in removing all traces of klesha (dross impurities within) becomes a pure soul atman forever. The resultant negative residual balance of karma from present and past manifestations can only be neutralized by indulgence in good karma, positive karma all the time. In Bhagavad Gita chapter 5 verse 25 Lord Krishna emphasizes need for human beings, travelers of path of spirituality indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time. Without eradicating negative residual balance of karma from previous manifestations to zero… no human being on mother earth could ever reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana).

It is only through path of nishkama karma yoga, act of forgiveness, compassion human beings slowly but steadily removed traces of negative karma from our soul atman, the spirit within! To gain absolute purity in life… travelling path of absolute truthfulness, always and ever was an absolute must! Unless we were hundred percent truthful in life… one could never travel path of nishkama karma yoga, no matter what! On path of absolute truthfulness… not a single lapse was permitted by God Almighty! Ever since six years of age… I walked path of absolute truthfulness, no matter what! It took me a total of 31 years before I realized self, realized god in 1993 at 37 years of age! In the spiritual parlance, I reached cosmic end of life… 8.4 millionth manifestation!

Cutting across shackles of karma to remove negative residual balance of karma from previous manifestations is definitely a tough task. Whatever wrongdoings of present life… we could eradicate the same by indulgence in good karma, positive karma in present manifestation. But what of negative karma indulged in previous manifestations? This hidden percentage of karma from previous manifestations that has not yet fructified is termed Prarabdha karma. If we had a positive residual balance of karma from previous manifestations… we might be lucky to win a lottery all of a sudden, for no karma performed in present manifestation! But what if the residual balance of karma from previous manifestations was negative?

We would continue suffering all the time in present life in spite of indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time! This proves the theory that why some people all the time kept suffering in spite of good, positive karma performed in present life! Suffering at the hands of destiny, fate simply meant that we had a negative residual balance of karma from previous manifestations in our kitty. To cut across shackles of Prarabdha Karma was the most difficult task on mother earth. Why? As we do not know origin of such karma… neutralizing the same in present life becomes a problem! Unless we know mantra for obliterating the same… our spiritual travel practically becomes stagnant.

Such mantras are hidden in sacred scriptures of Hinduism and can only be realized when we reached a particular level in spirituality! It took me full 3 years before I realized the mantra to cut across shackles of Prarabdha Karma. Still it took not days, months but many years before I could remove all traces of negative karma from previous manifestations. Practice of celibacy, physical aspect of celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) was extremely helpful in realizing this mantra. But a sincere seeker of spirituality needs to practice celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation to realize such mantras. Practicing absolute celibacy was even more difficult… time-consuming!

Absolute celibacy means stopping flow of all negative thoughts to our brain in totality. This again is really difficult to accomplish. Only a hardened seeker of spirituality who had the capability to establish absolute control over five senses finally succeeds in establishing absolute control over mind power. Control over mind power simply means the incessant flow of thoughts to our brain can be controlled in totality. For one who reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi… not even a single thought can enter our brain uninvoked. Control over mind power becomes a reality by contemplating on God Almighty is via path of self enquiry (Neti… not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana, one who reached God in his lifetime.

Establishing absolute control over five senses and mind initially seemed extremely difficult but with passage of time… the spiritual journey becomes easy! Step-by-step slowly one starts establishing control over desires and passions leading to cessation of desires in totality. When a traveler of path of jnana yoga realizes that other than God Almighty nothing existed in cosmos (Brahmaand in Hinduism)… establishing control over five senses becomes easier. By realizing that our soul atman, the consciousness within was the absolute master and controller of human body and not vice versa… we start giving more importance to dictates from within. Hearing sweet small inner voice of our soul atman, that always prompts on right path… one finally removes all traces of klesha (dross impurities within) our soul atman, inner consciousness!

Path of spirituality is a long drawn process. There never were shortcuts to path of pure spirituality. Travelers of religious path (path of rituals) searched for shortcuts to reaching God in present life. No matter how many trips made to temples, churches and mosques… unless we removed all klesha (dross impurities) within our soul atman… we would never reach God in present life! For removal of complete klesha (dross impurities within) God Almighty ordained a long journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form… that entailed approximately 11.4 million earthly years. Achieving the same in a limited time span of 70 to 80 years of earthly sojourn truly can happen only with grace of God Almighty.

As per Lord Krishna power of mind must never be underestimated! As detailed in Bhagavad Gita… no human being ever had an independent mind. The mind of entire cosmos was one… it only had two compartments… reservoir of mind plus and reservoir of mind minus. From reservoir of mind plus all human beings invoked all positive thoughts. All negative thoughts flowed from reservoir of mind minus. Based on our buddhi (intellect)… we either invoked positive or negative thoughts at a given moment of time. It is only by travelling path of absolute truthfulness human beings finally invoked positive thoughts all the time. Good thoughts, positive thoughts can only be invoked by those with godly thinking! Those remaining immersed in thoughts of God Almighty all the time… invoked good thoughts, positive thoughts most of time!

Remaining truthful all the time, invoking positive thoughts all the time was a precursor to reaching God in present life. To reach God, to realize God… to reach stage of salvation moksha, human being working for welfare of entire mankind was the biggest clue of spiritual path!
